Special Interest Groups
Special Interest Groups help members connect on a more personal level and tend to be rewarding and fulfilling. Form a group comprised of members sharing a common interest (Book Club, Mommy ‘n Me, Sister Mixers) with the intention of having this group create a bond with one another as well as the alumnae group. Interest Groups should have a chairman to be a liaison between the SIG and the alumnae chapter or association.
The Albuquerque Art and History SIG will explore the art and architecture of historic locations around town as soon as health guidelines make in-person gatherings possible. Contact Joan Reynolds at reynoldsjo@aol.com or (505) 293-0181 for information.
The "Santa Fe Sights" SIG members like to explore the many cultural and historical assets of Santa Fe. During the current health restrictions, this SIG has enjoyed a Zoom meeting each month. For information, or to be added to the email distribution list, please contact Kim Motola at kmotola@gmail.com.
The El Paso alumnae association voted to disband and merge with the Albuquerque alumnae chapter in Fall 2018. Since then, sisters in El Paso and Las Cruces are continuing DG fellowship as separate SIGs in those cities.
Alamogordo and Farmington DGs have also enjoyed informal meet-ups called Hannah Hangouts since Fall 2019. More gatherings will take place as health guidelines change.
The Albuquerque Lunch Bunch SIG met at the Sawmill Market in May. Additional gatherings will be planned as sisters feel more comfortable in social settings. Contact Lex Tysseling at alexa@e3c.com to be added to her list of eager diners.
Contact alumnae chapter president Susan Perry at dgsusanperry@comcast for information about hosting a Hannah Hangout in your community!
